yesterday and today's snapshot

yesterday morning, we learned how to write Ee the correct way.

Addison's daddy just got home from Turkey and Addison got to pass out spinning tops to her classmates.

our question of the day:

we compared neighborhoods and schools after watching the eBook Neighborhood Songs.

in the library, the students listened to Fredrick.

"While the other field mice work to gather grain and nuts for winter, Frederick sits on a sunny rock by himself. “I gather sun rays for the cold dark winter days,” he tells them. then they made prints in fall colors using apples and bell peppers. 

fall begins Sunday, September 22 :)

this morning the students practiced writing Ee's on the whiteboard.

the question of the day:

can you make a triangle with your hands?

we had our last read aloud for The Gingerbread Man. afterwards, we decided to change the ending. we thought about what the Gingerbread Man could have done if the sneaky fox hadn't eaten him.

this afternoon in limited centers, we made shapes on our geoboards...

started making books...

and made paper doll families.

reminders:

* an example of environmental print for our Word Wall beginning with the letter Ee. Environmental print is the print on road signs, restaurants, cereal boxes, and other places in the environment. The word “stop” on a stop sign or the name “McDonald’s” on the sign for the fast food restaurant. Environmental print is the first introduction most children have to reading. Have a letter Ee hunt around the house or grocery store or riding down the road with your child and see what you find! J
