We had a busy day today. The students had their first science class with Ms. Annie, our director. They shared thier All About Me bags! The students had so much fun sharing information about themselves to Ms. Annie and their classmates. This is the poem that were on their bags:

 “ALL ABOUT ME”

In this brown bag you will find,
Things that show I’m one of a kind.
4 items or pictures of stuff I like,
My family, friends, a hobby or bike.
So when I share these things with you,
You’ll find out things you never knew!

Next week they will be measuring themselves to compare how tall they are at the beginning of the year and will do it again at the end of the year.

We continued our discussion on feelings with happy. We had our final read aloud for Wemberly Worried.

We practiced writing our Aa's again today. We will be pros by Friday! ;)

Here is a look at our homework for this week. Students were to search package wrappers, newspapers, and magazines for the letter Aa, cut them out, and glue them to their homework sheet. I found this sheet in a packet you can find {here} for FREE at Me and Marie.

We continued our discussion today on feelings with scared. We talked about what makes us scared.
We discussed the difference between real and pretend and used Little Miss Muffet as an example of being scared of spiders. We wrote in our journals this afternoon about a time that we have been scared.
We read The Kissing Hand and discussed the feelings we had on our first days of school. We created handprint Kissing Hand art.

And we practiced our A's again today on the wipeoff board.

And I figured you might enjoy watching your babies sleep as much as I enjoy watching mine at home, so here's a few pics from naptime today. :)

Today we began our discussion on feelings. We discussed the feeling sad and what makes us sad. Today's read aloud was Wemberly Worried.

We discussed what we could do when we were feeling sad or scared at school. Besides talking to our teachers and friends, there is a special spot in our classroom where students can take a break whenever they feel like it. In our classroom, that spot is called the Cozy Corner. It has a bean bag, pillows, stuffed animals, and books the students can use while they take a break from the world.

We also began practicing our A's today. We started with an A dry erase sheet. Unfortunately, I cannot remember where I downloaded these. :(

We also made A's using our play-do mats.

I introduced the daily journal to the students today. We will be writing in our journals during our afternoon Small Group time. Today's vocabulary word was SAD. The students had to draw about a time they were sad and write the word.

And here are a few pics from today: in the art center, on the playground observing a ladybug, and dancing with scarves to the tempo.
