today's post

Tuesday in library, the students played Hot Apple (Potato)!

they also brainstormed words that begin with A.

yesterday in the library, students colored an apple puzzle, cut it out, and put it back together.

we practiced writing Dd in our salt tray and had music with Ms. Poole this morning.

this week was our turn with the doctor kit.
it includes:

real x-rays, gauze, bandages, stethoscope, bottles with marbles, bottles with beans, and more

each week we pull up songs about our letter of the week on YouTube and rock out.
the students especially love these.

question of the day:

we had a visit from the UWA Nursing Program today! we talked about germs and why it's so important to wash our hands.

the nursing students then took us to the restroom for a demonstration. they put germ-x and glitter on their hands to represent germs and showed the students how only water will not wash the germs away. they told the students they must wash their hands for 20 seconds to get them clean. and they can sing Happy Birthday while they wash their hands and that would be 20 seconds. the boys sang Happy Birthday to me :)))

the students talked about the life cycle of an apple tree today in library.
then put sequence cards in correct order.

thank you to everyone for the early birthday wishes.
I will not be here tomorrow, the 6th anniversary of my 29th birthday.
(Ms. Claire and Ms. Poole will be subbing)
You guys are the best!

next week's homework:

Please bring by Friday:

* an example of environmental print for our Word Wall beginning with the letter Ee. Environmental print is the print on road signs, restaurants, cereal boxes, and other places in the environment, the word “stop” on a stop sign or the name “McDonald’s” on the sign for the fast food restaurant. Environmental print is the first introduction most children have to reading. Have a letter Ee hunt around the house or grocery store or riding down the road with your child and see what you find! J
* if you would like to come and do a cooking activity with us next week, we would love to have you! just let me know what you would like to cook with the students and what time works best for you. just remember, no peanut products allowed. J
