yesterday and today's snapshot

Tuesday in the library the students read a book about leaves and then sorted leaves by characteristics.

yesterday, we fingerpainted the letter Ee.

we also read Hooray, a Pinata! and talked about being a good friend.

this morning we had music with Ms. Poole and wrote Ee's in the rice tray.

Rebecca's dad bought all the girls a Tiger Paw nailpolish kit so we spent the morning doing our nails.
and of course the boys couldn't be left out, so I painted tiger paws on their faces.
best of luck to our Tigers who play at Florida Atlantic tonight!

we read Too Many Tamales today which is a good story about listening to adults, managing feelings, and following expectations.

"Maria was feeling very grown-up on Christmas Eve as she helped her mother prepare the tamales for Christmas dinner. When she slipped her mother's diamond ring onto her finger, she only meant to wear it for a minute. But suddenly, the ring was gone, and there were 24 tamales that just might contain the missing ring."

our nursing program friends visited us again today. Albert the Alligator came to tell them the importance of brushing their teeth 2 times a day. especially when Halloween comes!

each student has a dental health goody bag in their cubby.

and they could give Albert a thank you hug!

this afternoon, we worked on our books...

painted with brown and white...

and visited the technology center.

for our question of the day, what do you like to do with your friends, each student drew their answer on a post-it note.

the students learned how to do apple tree yoga in the library today.
ask them to show you!

and they used paint to make leaf prints!

due tomorrow:

* an example of environmental print for our Word Wall beginning with the letter Ee. Environmental print is the print on road signs, restaurants, cereal boxes, and other places in the environment. The word “stop” on a stop sign or the name “McDonald’s” on the sign for the fast food restaurant. Environmental print is the first introduction most children have to reading. Have a letter Ee hunt around the house or grocery store or riding down the road with your child and see what you find! J
* if you would like to come and do a cooking activity with us next week, we would love to have you! just let me know what you would like to cook with the students and what time works best for you. just remember, no peanut products allowed. J
