today's snapshot

we finished up the week by writing Ee's on the smartboard.

we had our first issue of Clifford's My Big World magazine today.
it was all about apples!
one important piece of information we learned is that an apple seed is called a pip!
we followed directions on our interactive magazine page and colored the apple, stem, leaf, and pips.

and we watched a video about Johnny Appleseed.
we will celebrate his birthday next Thursday!

the students then colored the apple page in their paper copy and are bringing them home to share with you!

today was our last week with the traveling doctor's office center.
can't wait to see what center makes its way into our classroom on Monday.

we are still working on our books.

and the students made their Crazy Pizzas. keep reading for more information!

we watched Crazy Pizza Day on the smartboard this morning.

"On Crazy Pizza Day, when a restaurant decides to offer any topping the customer wants, some of the requests are surprising."

then I asked each student what they would put on their own crazy pizza.
this is one of those situations where you know you are going to get some GOOD answers! :D
and I did.

the students made people and animals with leaves in the library today.
fall starts Sunday!!!!

Please bring by Friday:

* an example of environmental print for our Word Wall beginning with the letter Ff. Environmental print is the print on road signs, restaurants, cereal boxes, and other places in the environment. The word “stop” on a stop sign or the name “McDonald’s” on the sign for the fast food restaurant. Environmental print is the first introduction most children have to reading. Have a letter Ff hunt around the house or grocery store or riding down the road with your child and see what you find! J

* we need a bag of celery, a batch of pimento and cheese, and raisins to make Ants on a Log (peanut allergy friendly version) for snack on Friday. please let me know if you can purchase this for us. J
