we walked over to the Caf to have a photo shoot with LUie, the tiger today.

I HAVE HOMEWORK!!!

Please send the following by Friday:

* if there is a parent who has a special talent that they can do with their hands (play an instrument, juggle, knit, etc) we would love to have you visit our room and share your talent with us. please email me if you or someone you know is interested.
* an example of environmental print for our Word Wall beginning with the letter Cc. Environmental print is the print on road signs, restaurants, cereal boxes, and other places in the environment. The word "stop" on a stop sign or the name "McDonald's" on the sign for the fast food restaurant. Environmental print is the first introduction most children have to reading. Have a letter Bb hunt around your house with your child and see what you might find to bring J

today's snapshot

we practiced writing Bb's in our salt tray this morning!

we talked about rules and why they are important.
we played a fun rule game you are probably familiar with. Simon Says!
In this version, the rules were:
If Simon says it, try and do it.
If Tiger says it, don't do it. He's trying to trick you. But if you do, you roar like a tiger and rejoin the game.
:)

Simon says jump!

Simon says sit down!

Simon says touch your nose!

Simon says touch the sky!

the students then created their own set of classroom rules. these will be posted in the room after each student signs their name.

question of the day:

during journal time, the students drew what they thought germs looked like.

they also played with cars and trucks...

and the pet counters.

in library today, the students made "Family Fun" books.
the drew pictures of fun things they do or could do with their families.

the coupon books the students made earlier in the week went home today.
take advantage, moms and dads! use these coupons to get some chores done! :D
