Wednesday's snapshot

we began the morning by playing a fun counting game! the students really enjoyed this spider ring counting game. they pulled a spider ring out of the bucket, colored one spider on their sheet that color, and once all the spiders were colored in they had to count up the total amount of orange spiders and black spiders and write the numeral on their paper. Halloween fun!

we also fingerpainted Jj's!

we watched The Quincenara and discussed types of materials, patterns for making clothes, and looms.

our question of the day:

I then split the students into 4 groups and gave each group a piece material.
I gave them 4 minutes to create a piece of clothing.

then the models walked/ran the runway!

we discussed how we do not always have to have a sewing machine or needle and thread to make clothes.
and they successfully proved my point!

in limited centers, the students learned to play another counting game.
my mat is similar to this one on PreKinders.
the students identified the number on the card and then placed that many apples (pompoms) on the tree.

they also had free time on the whiteboard...

and drew faces on our jack-o-lanterns...
( I found this last year at Mine for the Making. all you do is download, print, and pop into a picture frame. Then use a dry erase marker to make your own jack-o-lantern face!)

the students played Zoe's Halloween game on Sesame Street...

and also played store in the dramatic play center.

after listening to a story in library, the students learned how to make ghosts which we will add to our spooky classroom decorations.

today was Wacky Tacky Wednesday for homecoming week!
