Read Across America

what a Seusstastic day!
we read There's a Wocket in my Pocket during morning meeting.

during morning centers and small group we had visitors come read to us, too!
Miss Rebecca read Gerald McBoing Boing to us...

and Miss Issy read A Great Day for Up.

then Mr. Laderius from Phi Beta Sigma read One Fish, Two Fish to us.

we were so glad to see Miss Katy today! we have enjoyed her soccer lessons in the past and hope to see her for more lessons soon! she ate snack with us...

and then read Baby Bear Sees Blue.

we squeezed in some correct formation practice for the letter Yy...

and after watching One Fish, Two Fish on YouTube, we played a fun counting game.

students rolled the die, stated the number, located the fish bowl with that number, and placed that many fish inside the bowl.
you can print this free, Montessori-inspired game {here}.

after quiet time, Miss Michelle from UWA Women's Soccer team read us Yertle the Turtle.

and we were visited by some football players during snack.
Mr. Blake read us 5 Little Monkeys...

and Mr. Chad read us The Shape of Me.

Miss Mo from Delta Sigma Theta stopped by during limited centers. She read And to Think I Saw It on Mulberry Street and stayed to play in the block center for a while.

we also were visited by Mr. Wesley from the UWA Golf Team...

and Mr. Trevor from the UWA Golf Team.

during limited centers, the students wrote about their favorite book from the day...

played the One Fish, Two Fish counting game...

and explored Seussville on the computers.

and to end the day, Miss Hunter read The Cat in the Hat to us...

and of course Horton Hears a Who movie was a choice for after school :)
(Horton the Elephant struggles to protect a microscopic community
from his neighbors who refuse to believe it exists.)
