Friday's snapshot

Rob put together this 24 pc puzzle all by himself this morning!!!

we fingerpainted Zz's...

and Stepped Up and circled z's.

question of the day:

in ROD today the students talked about the signs of spring. they read the book And Then It’s Spring and read the poem Sunflower Cheer. they talked about all the things outside that let us know it is springtime. Dr. Minear brought in some interesting tree branches that had a lot of new growth on them. the students studied the branches with magnifying glasses, and tried to figure out what the things were that were growing. since it was such a beautiful day, they decided to spend the rest of their class time with Ms. Annie outside looking for signs of spring in nature. they found things such as flowers, clovers, blooms on trees, birds, sunlight, and more to show us spring was about to arrive! the students drew pictures and/or wrote the words of the things that they saw. it was the perfect day to do a lesson about the arrival of spring!

we also read about St. Patrick's Day today!
we created a Leprechaun Trap by recycling a box, a paper towel roll, and some items from our other centers that we thought he might find enticing!

the students told us what they wanted to write on the box.

and they decorated it.

the students decided to build a glue trap to catch him when he tried to take our "gold" nuggets and our "gold" coins.

then we set it up...

and built a trail to the trap.

sure hope we catch him this time!
don't forget to wear green Monday!!!

"Diego and his family are migrant farmers who move from state to state picking fruits and vegetables. Each day brings a new experience--a different place, a different crop, and different people to meet. But no matter where Diego goes, his radio goes with him--it helps him to learn about the places he's going and to keep in touch with the people he meets along the way."
