this morning we practiced sorting by color. we have been working on spring assessments all week and hope to be sending them home in mailboxes next week.
we also practiced one more day on our formation of Yy.
we had our final read aloud for The Paper Bag Princess today and will be doing some fun activities next week using this book...so stay tuned!
we talked about the meanings of our vocab words: expensive, fiery, trail, knocker, slammed, fiercest, and magnificent. we also discussed Prince Ronald’s feelings towards Elizabeth, the dragon’s feelings toward Elizabeth, and Elizabeth’s feelings towards Ronald.
we created our KWL chart today for the 3R's.
I will be using this in the following weeks to guide what we learn.
question of the day:
the K5 students visited us again today and we had fun playing the Egg Carton Pom Pom Adding game again. the egg carton has numbers 0-9 written in each space. the student closes the carton and shakes. then the carton is opened and the two numbers marked by the pom poms are recorded on the data sheet. tokens/chips are then used to add the two numbers together and the answer is recorded.
we also learned how to play Less Than. all the cards are passed out to the players. everyone flips one card over. the person with the lowest number on their card wins all of the cards in that round. if there is a tie, the students battle- 3 cards are layed face down and the 4th one is flipped up. the person with the lowest number on their card wins all of the cards.
happy birthday to Maddox today! I am leaving at 1:30 today so I will miss the festivities. I know everyone will have a great time!
