today's snapshot

Another busy day today! This morning we had science with Ms. Annie. The students read the poem "One Inch Tall" by Shel Silverstein. They turned to their friends and talked about what it would be like to be one inch tall. They also got one inch paper clips and measured items around the science lab to find what was one inch tall. Ms. Annie and our work studies measured each child and wrote how tall they were on their bags. We are going to compare the beginning of the year to the end of the year! The students got to keep their string that shows their height, a one inch paper clip to measure with, a copy of the poem, and their answers to questions about what it would be like to be one inch tall. They also got to observe a ruler and measuring tape to see how we measure things.

We practiced our upper and lower case Bb's this morning before science.

We also continued our readings and discussion on the importance of rules. Today we brainstormed a list of classroom rules that will be posted in our classroom. Each student signed their name to adopt the rules into our daily routine.
