week of February 8 | snapshot

This post isn't going to be very long because, unfortunately, I was out several days with strep.
But the few days I was here, we had a great time!
Monday, we played Valentine, I Have...Who Has?
This is great for number recognition and the couldn't wait to play again!
You can grab a free copy {here}!

Then, for fun, we made a "Roll and Draw Love Bug!"

Our math the room activity was perfect for the month of February. We did it three different days; counting 1-10, 1-20, and 1-25. The pictures included President's Day images, Valentine’s Day images, groundhogs and football images. Fun!

Fat Tuesday was awesome! And the good times rolled!
We made masks, brought in our riding toys that were decorated by staff and volunteers, had a parade, ate king cake and moon pies, and thoroughly enjoyed every second!

Friday was all about L<3VE!
We had a special snack in the morning...

Guessed how many Hershey kisses tall we were, too!

We made some very special valentines for our very special valentines!

In math, we estimated then measured flowers using conversation hearts!

For Write the Room, the students found a card with a piece of winter clothing. They identified the beginning sound and wrote the uppercase letter, lowercase letter, and drew the piece of winter clothing beside the corresponding number/shape.

We walked over to the Caf for lunch. After eating, we listened to a presentation on the history of chocolate. The students even smelled butter that smells exactly like chocolate!
Fun fact we learned: Cocoa beans are called "cocoa" not "cacao" beans because of a spelling mistake made by the English importers in the 18th Century when chocolate was becoming popular.

Ms. Annie bought each student a chocolate tiger paw!!!

That afternoon, we had our Valentine party!
Thank you to all the parent volunteers who were in charge of the party!
It was yummy and perfect!

Then we passed out our valentines!

Our Write the Room for the week: valentine :)

Every holiday my students get "poop" from me.
For Valentine's Day they got Cupid Poop :D

We also wrote our version of I Love You and it turned out great!
You can get this bundle on Deanna Jump's Teacher Pay Teacher's page.
