Thursday's snapshot

we began our wonderful Thursday singing Happy Birthday to Ms. Brittany!
she is such a wonderful addition to our school and we were very happy to celebrate her day with her.

we began our morning with practicing Vv's on our MagnaDoodle.

and we also fingerpainted Vv's.

we went on a field trip to our local public library, Ruby Pickens Tartt Library, and Ms. Sandra talked with us about coming with our families and checking out books.

we also learned a new Valentine's Day song

and Ms. Sandra read a Valentine's Day book to us :)

"It’s only a week until Valentine’s Day, and Lily wants to make the perfect heart-shaped valentine for Mommy. But every time she cuts out a heart, it’s either too pointy, too round, or too skinny. As the days go by, Lily tries again and again, and when Valentine’s Day finally arrives, she has a heart for each day of the week! Which one will be the perfect valentine surprise for Mommy?"

then the students toured the children's section of the library and had the opportunity to browse Valentine's Day books.

while Ms. Brooke's class toured the children's section, we got to dance to one of our favorite book and songs, Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes.

"Pete the Cat goes walking down the street wearing his brand new white shoes. Along the way, his shoes change from white to red to blue to brown to WET as he steps in piles of strawberries, blueberries, and other big messes! But no matter what color his shoes are, Pete keeps movin' and groovin' and singing his song...because it's all good."

we all got stickers, too!

our question of the day:

in limited centers, the students played the environmental print matching game, drew their favorite building from Buildings, Buildings, Buildings, and matched upper and lower case letters using stamps. :)
