we practiced writing Uu's on last time this week on the smartboard
we also made our morning snack!
Ms. Brooke and I discussed the ingredients they would be using to make trail mix.
we discussed the similarities in Cheerios and Chex- both beginning with /ch/.
we also discussed the beginning sounds of Ziploc, Raisins, and Pretzels.
each student wrote their name on their Ziploc...
then added 1/2 cup of the ingredients they wanted to include in their trail mix...
shook the bag to mix the ingredients...
and the best part...the taste test!
then we came back into the classroom to make a recipe card using environmental print.
they talked, I wrote!
we Stepped Up and circled u's or u words.
we finished our final read aloud for The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs. I think some of the students were warming up to the wolf after hearing his side of the story.
during afternoon open play, we went out to the front yard and ran!
the students had to listen to the directions very closely.
(if you are a girl- tip toe to the tree, if your name starts with K- walk to the tree backwards, if you have brown hair- hop to the tree like a rabbit, etc...)
it was a lot of fun!
in limited centers, the students drew something that begins with U...
cut out u's or u words they found in magazines...
and discovered what would happen to chalk when you wet it before drawing :)
