today's snapshot

We started our Ball Study today!
There is a letter in your child's mailbox explaining what the study is about.
Please send one (1) of your child's favorite balls to school TOMORROW for our discussion.

We started off our discussion by listing all of the balls the students could think of and then went through our ball collection to see what we could have missed. They came up with 14 by themselves!

Our question of the day:

We also learned that tongue twisters are phrases that are challenging to say because the words all sound similar. The students had to help me identify the sound they were hearing the most.

We played Say It, Show It. We chanted:
Appy, tappy, tappy,
Appy, tappy, too.
Appy, tappy, tappy,
I'll show my card to you!

I held up a number card 0-10 and the students had to hold up the corresponding # of fingers.

(7)
Hope made the number 7 with her fingers and Conner made it in Chinese.

(10)
with 10 fingers and a 1 and a 0 :)

We had our first read aloud of The Little Red Hen and also watched the eBook. The cat, dog, and goose sure learned the hard way about helping out their friend, the hen!

Our friend, Maddox, visited us today. We sure wish he'd stick around permanently!

Our annual Family Turkey Project is being sent home today.
Help your turkey make it safely past Thanksgiving this year by disguising him as part of your family. Think of something that is unique to your family (hobbies, jobs, sports, etc) and dress your turkey.
Please have fun and be creative! You may use any medium you can think of to decorate your turkey.

Bring it back to school Friday!!!

And lastly, Ms. Annie bought a new addition to the classroom decor...an owl rug. All :)))))))
