welcome back!

I hope everyone had a wonderful break! I didn't do a whole lot...mostly playing outside and I took my son to the zoo. I am glad, however, to be back and on a schedule and seeing my favorite kids' faces!
This week we are focusing on the letter Yy.

and we are continuing our tree study. we learned the difference between and viewed pictures of conifer and broadleaf trees.
conifers have needle-like leaves and bear cones, hard or soft.

broadleaf trees have flat or wide leaves and bear fruit or berries.

we watched Let's Plant a Tree on YouTube.

yesterday a few members of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra from Jackson, MS visited us. we learned about and listened to a flute, clarinet, bassoon, oboe, and horn.

and Dr. Satcher's PE class came in the afternoon to teach us some new games and get our hearts pumping.

journal topics:
we are learning about the parts of a tree.

our question of the day:
does your name have a Y in it?

this afternoon we played in our spring sensory tub,

used spring play-doh cutters,

wrote in our journals:
would you rather be a rainbow or a raindrop?

and started working on our chick number puzzles.
