today's snapshot

Whew! What a busy day! This morning we had a visit from our mayor, Tom Tartt. He read to each class and viewed the Trash Fair.
Then we attended Dr. Minear's Language Arts Class Fair. We learned lots of new things at each booth!

And THEN we toured the Trash Fair. This is our first annual Trash Fair! Students were asked to make projects using recycled projects and bring them to school today.

recycled plastic bottle piggy banks

recycled flower made from foam, paper, toilet paper holder, and plastic egg

bouquet made from paper, plastic bottle bottoms, and can tabs

recycled jump rope made from plastic bags and cardboard

recycled alligator made from boxes, cotton balls, and plastic tops
recycled caterpillar and windmill made from plastic bottles

recycled "green house" made from cans

Pink-a-Bot made from tubes and egg cartons

recycled house made from Easter supplies

recycled robot made from plastic bags

recycled ocean made from plastic bottles

cheerleader made from popcorn tub, cardboard, diaper box, and tubes

spring scene made from bottle tops, cookie cutters, and plastic eggs

recycled American flag made from a pallet, and red, white, and blue materials

And then we finally had enough time to read a story together before lunch. And it was a funny one too!
