shooting stars

We made coffee can shooting stars today! I cut a piece of black construction paper in 1/2 and placed it in the coffee can. I dropped 3 marbles in a cup of white paint and then dumped the marbles in the can.

I would have liked to have put the lid on the coffee can but since I used it for another activity, I didn't have a lid. So, I put a Ziploc bag over the top to keep the marbles from coming out. Then the students shook, shook, shook! While we clapped, clapped, clapped!

After they dried, the students added some star stickers to create the shooting star effect.
