We had another very busy week last week at Campus School!
Let's get started with our snapshot!
In math, the class went on a shape walks looking for circles, squares, and rectangles. They recorded their observations. And I recorded their findings with pictures and will put it together with their journals and make a classroom book.
We did our Write the Room Mm in the Book Fair room while making our wish lists :)
We had a wonderful turn out for the Grandparent's Tea! Thank you to each grandparent or family representative that could make it. I wish that I had been able to speak to each of you, spend more time, and get more pictures but I did not have enough time and was running around to make sure everything was running smoothly. It meant a lot to the students and to us to have you here :)
We also had a great school-wide turn out for Hero Day which was also Community Helper Day!
We had UWA athletes from 9 different sports come and read, play, eat snack, and more.
Thank you to each one who took time out of their day to visit with us. You will never know what it means to our students!

The students paired up and cut out pictures from the magazines that correlated with the season fall. We had previously talked about what went along with fall (colors, smells, holidays, etc.)
After the students accumulated a substantial pile of pictures, they glued the pictures creating a class collage.
This time when we went to the Curriculum Library, the college students had prepared some reading games or activities for the students. They seemed to really enjoy and caught on quickly. This teacher was very proud!
Friday, was all about Johnny Appleseed since his birthday was Saturday.
During math, we did Appleseed Math. The students rolled a dice and drew that many seeds on one side of the apple. They rolled again and drew that many seeds on the other side of the apple. They then made an equation and added all of the seeds together to find out the answer.
We also read I Can Read About Johnny Appleseed
I introduced the students to Count the Room.
The students had to look around the room for the matching picture, count how many pictures are in the box, and write the number by the picture.
Then we made a special snack...apple trees!
We used Ritz crackers, pretzel rods, green icing, and M&Ms.
limited centers:
art- sponge paint apples
discovery- magnifying glasses, fall items from our area: pumpkins, gourds, apples, hay, leaves, pinecones, fall leaves, twigs, , etc…
dramatic play- Apple Stand
the students made the sign for the Apple Stand and decided how much they wanted to sell their apples for :)
math- Whooo’s Missing? figure out the missing numbers
listening center- Is Your Mama a Llama?
blocks-small apples and trucks and build apple farms
