last week's snapshot

we had a wonderful week learning about community helpers.
Monday, we discussed the importance of police officers, what they do for us, and decided if it was a service or a good.

then we went on a campus field trip to visit UWAPD across the street Tuesday.

Ms. Haley showed us the way to the conference room...

where Chief Manuel spoke to us about stranger danger and Halloween safety.
Thanks, Chief, for taking time out of your day to speak to us!

we came back to the school and made fingerprints using pencil graphite and tape so that we can examine them like police officers in our discovery center.

we also played Community Helper Who and Where Bingo several times this week!

Wednesday, we discussed bakers, what they do, and if they provide a good or a service.
the students also watched Between the Lions: Baker.

Thursday, we discussed dentists, how they are important to us, and if they provide a good or a service.

while the students watched The Berenstain Bears Visit the Dentist, I hid items around the room that are used in dental health for a Dentist Scavenger Hunt!

Friday we all dressed as our favorite community helper.
