Thanksgiving Feast part II

American as apple pie!

An easy no-bake apple pie recipe (although we will warm ours in the oven). This recipe came from Prekinders. All you need is:

Disposable spoons
Disposable bowls
Can opener
Canned apples (not pie filling, just apples in water)
Cinnamon & Sugar
Mini graham cracker pie crusts
Whipped cream

And the directions are:

Give each child a bowl and spoon. Allow children to scoop some apples from the can into their bowl. Be sure to give each child some of the water from the can so it will be easier to stir in the other ingredients. Allow each child to shake the cinnamon sugar onto their apples and stir it with their spoon. Once the cinnamon, sugar, and apples are mixed well, the children spoon their mixture into the pie crusts. Add whipped cream to the top and enjoy!

 

Thanksgiving Feast

3 days after the tree lighting ceremony/Christmas Caroling, we have our Thanksgiving Feast. :) Do we mind? Never! We enjoyed every second and the kids were awesome! Again! Jackson's mom took some more pics and I will post them as soon as we get them!

we sang Thanksgiving Day, 5 Fat Turkeys Are We, and I'm a Little Indian, Pilgrim, Turkey

Then we feasted on turkey and dressing, cranberry sauce, green beans, mac and cheese, sweet potato casserole, rolls, and caramel cake catered by Diamond Jim's. It was yummy!

virtual tour of Pilgrim Plantation

Yesterday we took a virtual tour of a Pilgrim Plantation via Scholastic. There are also tours of a Wompanoag Homesite and a Pilgrim Village.

Centers with Awesome People

Our Thanksgiving themed C-WAP was today. And we had so much fun!!!! In Ms. Kaley's class we made popsicle stick scarecrows.

In Ms. Kim's class we made candy corn turkeys!

In Ms. Brooke's class we made Blessing Mix!

And in Ms. Jaysa's room we made handprint Mayflowers!

We made toilet paper tube turkey centerpieces! Whew! That was a mouthful!

Materials:

Paper Plate

Scissors

Scraps of Red and Yellow/Orange Foam or construction paper

googly Eyes

Fall Paint colors including Brown

Craft Tube or Toilet Paper Roll

White glue

Brushes

Tuesday we painted the tubes brown.

YesterdayI cut the bottom off of the paper plates and the students painted to their heart's content.

 I stapled the tubes to the plates and we had 3 lovely centerpieces for our tables today!
