what does travel mean?

This week we will focus on what traveling means, how do we get there, and where we are going. Yesterday we brainstormed a list of places we might travel. And we learned that traveling means going from one place to another. Transportation is how we get there!

Where did the Pilgrims come from?

November was my month to do the P-3 bulletin board and if you know me, you know this was right up my alley! I love, love, love doing bulletin boards...especially with some cute Pilgrims! And I have been waiting impatiently patiently to use a map as the background. Instead I used the Cricut (my BFF) to cut out the letters from my map. And it turned out precious!

The Pilgrim craft came from Free Kids Crafts. We painted our faces yesterday.

Today, we added clothes, eyes, noses, and mouths. They turned out great! Next week we will spend the week discussing the trip on the Mayflower (transportation) and all about the Pilgrims. We will also prepare for our Thanksgiving Feast next Thursday. :)

Monday- meatloaf, potatoes, roll
Tuesday- noodles, vegetables, chicken (Chinese), roll
Wednesday- baked chicken, rice, green beans
Thursday- Pizza Hut
Friday- fried fish, blackeyed peas, mac and cheese

Dr. Satcher's Phys Ed class visited us during our gross motor time. We played with a parachute, did the Hokey Pokey, and so much more!

Scarecrow!

Just in case you haven't noticed, Ms. Kaley and I decorated the back doors like a giant scarecrow! :D

last week catch-up

We began our wheels and transportation unit last week. Here's a snapshot of what we learned before I went on sick leave.

We brainstormed a list of vehicles. The :) and :( means they either have or don't have wheels. The # represents how many wheels they have.

Then we drove some cars through some mud (paint) and made some mud art!

this week

Hello to all! I am finally getting back in the swing of things. step throat + other virus= sick! Weak but getting better daily. Glad to be back, that’s for sure! We will have a busy month and I will try to make it as painless as possible. This week:

·         we will need 3 pics of things beginning with the letter Jj

·         Wednesday is the Walk for the Campus School with the Exercise Club. It begins at 7:30 am. Please make sure your child wears the CS t-shirt, is here by 7:30, and you have signed the permission slip

·         there is a Family Turkey Project in your child’s mailbox that is due back this Friday. I hope you will have lots of fun disguising your turkey with your child! If you have any questions, just let me know.
