last week's snapshot

the students had a great time working on their pumpkin glyphs!

we spent the week learning about trees and leaves.
the students learned the parts of a tree, why we need trees, how they make oxygen, photosynthesis, chlorophyll, why leaves change colors, the 2 types of trees, and the 2 types of leaves.

we also got to practice soccer on the football field with the UWA Soccer Teams!

the students have really been enjoying raking the fall leaves in dramatic play!

Mr. Luis is also teaching us our colors in Spanish.

Miss Tatum helped the students while they wrote directions for carving a pumpkin.

the students made /sh/ spiders since we are beginning to blend sounds this week.
first, they had to find a circle to trace.

then cut the circle out...

then cut the legs out and put the spider together. then we brainstormed a list of /sh/ words to write on the legs.

we hung our spiders on our orange limb in the library :)

we took advantage of the nice weather and the big tent in the front yard and had a picnic for our afternoon snack!

Miss Hunter finally made it out of the hospital and is working on recovering from kidney surgery. we have been missing her so much. ready for her return.
her sorority, Alpha Sigma Alpha, came to help the students make Get Well cards for Miss Hunter.
we always enjoy our visitors!
