Friday's snapshot

we practiced one more day writing Rr's on the smartboard.

we had our final read aloud for A Chair for My Mother. we focused on vocabulary words: waitress, diner, change, tips, bargain, spoiled, take a load off my feet, and exchanged. we also figured out the problem of the story and it's solution.
"After a fire destroys their home and possessions, Rosa, her mother, and grandmother save and save until they can afford to buy one big, comfortable chair that all three of them can enjoy. After their home is destroyed by a fire, Rosa, her mother and grandmother save their coins to buy a really comfortable chair for all to enjoy"

we also played Freeze today which is a favorite!

we completed the want-to-know section of our Buildings KWL chart this week, too.

in limited centers, we built with blocks. here is Archie with his race car ramp.

and Maddox with his castle.

we explored the January sensory tub...

and painted with blue and white.
