In science we talked about being heart healthy. We read Magic School Bus Inside the Human Body and talked about what we needed to do to make our bodies healthy. The students also enjoyed looking at our skeleton and talking about parts of the body and how we use them. We sang the song “I Have a Great Big Heart” and then took turns listening to each others hearts through paper towel rolls. Ms. Annie listened to everyone’s heart with a stethoscope. We also felt our hearts with our hand. We then all did fun exercises to the cd Cool Aerobics for Kids. After a couple of songs we listened to our hearts again and realized that after we exercise, our hearts beat faster!
