this week's snapshot

We are continuing our countries and Olympics study this week with Africa. Ms. Kaley left for a 2 week stay in Africa this morning so we dedicated this week to her trip.
Monday the students created a handprint Africa. I saw this idea on Pinterest <3.

Tuesday we traveled to Tuscaloosa to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked. And we ate at McDonald's afterwards and played. It was a great day!

Sacked out!
Wednesday we fingerpainted South Africa's flag.

And we also made leaf crowns like the winners of the Olympics used to receive instead of a gold medal. I found this laurel wreath crown at Easy Preschool Craft's site.

The events we learned about this week include field hockey, football, gymnastics, judo, modern pentathalon, handball, and rowing.
And here's a few pics from open centers. :)

awesome giveaway!

this week's snapshot

We are continuing our countries and Olympics study this week with Asia and Europe. Monday we discussed boxing and China. We made China's flag. First we cut out one large star and four small stars:

Then we glued our stars onto our red flag:

Then we wrote China on our flags:

Tuesday we made Chinese lanterns and learned about canoeing.

Wednesday we changed our door decorations and learned about cycling.
We are one in a melon!

Thursday We fingerpainted France's flag

The school age students made a Chinese dragon!

Today we made the Olympic rings and learned about fencing.

First we wrote the word Olympics at the top of our page.

Then we used cups as stamps and made our rings.

I found this idea {here}!
Kinsley spotted the rings on her snack yesterday :)
