Last week was all about past, present, and future transportation.
First, we brainstormed modes of transportation in air, on land, and in sea.
During the week we discussed the train and what it does for us. We found out who invented it and why. And we looked at the many different kinds of trains. We also researched who invented the first airplane and looked at pictures. We compared what it looks like to today's plane and realized that today's plane carries A LOT more passengers. We looked at the many different types of planes, too. The students also had fun designing what they think the future's boat will look like.
The students also made a class book.
They each drew a train car and decided where they would go if they could get on a train and go anywhere in the world.
We learned a new math game last week called Color Square Game- players take turns rolling the die and coloring in that number of squares. When all squares are colored, each player records the number of squares he/she colored to see who won.
Ms. Debbie from Bright Minds came and read to us again last week.
The students learned a new game called Musical Transportation Theme Chairs- they colored 2 of each picture: car, plane, hot air balloon. etc. We placed the same number of chairs back to back that were present. We taped one card in each chair and gave a matching card to each student. While the music was on, they walked around the chairs and looked for their matching card, but kept walking. When the music stopped, they found the matching card in the chair and parked (sat) in that chair.Then they swapped cards with a friend and we did it again.
Ms. Jenna with Ruby Pickens Tartt Public Library came for story time last week, too.
Last week ended our time with Mr. Linc and his field experience.
He sat up a fun obstacle course for us in PE!
And he also had a fun ball matching game set up for the students afterward on the computer.
Ms. Amaal taught her technology in education lesson on transportation last week in our room.

We had storytime with Ms. Annie at the Curriculum Library last week and were able to check out more books!
We are on our last leg of alphabet bootcamp!

We walked out front and watched Miss Allie's Mentos experiment.
