Thursday's snapshot

we celebrated a birthday today with Ms. Brenda, our school's custodian.
we surprised her with cards and a cake :)))

we talked about pajamas today.
we also focused on the words fret and weeping.
we read Llama Llama Red Pajama which helped the students understand these words more clearly.
and we talked about times the students have been nervous at bedtime like Llama Llama.

"Baby Llama turns bedtime into an all-out llama drama! Tucked into bed by his mama, Baby Llama immediately starts worrying when she goes downstairs, and his soft whimpers turn to hollers when she doesn't come right back. But just in time, Mama returns to set things right."

we also learned a new song, Cap, Mittens, Shoes, and Socks which is to the tune of Head, Shoulder, Knees, and Toes.

we watched a YouTube and sang along!

x

our nursing program friends came again this week.
we talked about how important exercise was.

and then the students played a cake-walk type game.
whatever the leader landed on is what the students did.

like arm circles...

and jogging in place...

and twists...

and jumping jacks...

and touch your toes.

in limited centers, the students practiced lacing with Halloween lacing cards...

made signs for the Tiger Walk...

played on PBS Kids on the smartboard...

and with the dress-up clothes in the dramatic play center.

we had a great time at the Tiger Walk!
best of luck to our Tigers against Delta State tonight!
It's great to be a UWA Tiger!

Ms. Brooke put up a bulletin board in the open play area for us to use when we catch students using great manners.
their name gets place in a bucket if they:
- use compliments
- listen
- help
-share
- kind words
- encourage
-are polite

**I will be out tomorrow to attend the Early Childhood Conference at UWA. Have a great weekend!***

our question of the day:

we learned all about shamrocks, St. Patrick, and Ireland today!
"This book describes the tiny green plants known as shamrocks, the customs and origins of St. Patrick's Day, and how the shamrock became the national symbol of Ireland"

we put together St. Patrick's Day puzzles (these free printables can be found here on Our Little Monkeys),

played a matching game,

and made some shamrock patterns!

in our afternoon centers, we put together tree puzzles

and explored tree parts

and doodled on the smartboard

and wrote in our journals.
