What a wild Fat Tuesday! We learned that Mardi Gras is French for "Fat Tuesday" and that the name comes from an ancient custom where a fat ox was paraded through Paris on this day. We also learned that there are parades, costumes, necklaces thrown, the main colors (purple, green, and gold), and king cakes.
We got to eat a king cake at snack.
And Jackson just came back from Mardi Gras in Mobile this weekend so we got necklaces! Thanks, Jackson's mom!
I am an early childhood teacher who taught preschool for 8 1/2 years, 2 years of K4, and ending my first year in K5. All at UWA Campus School! I love my job, teacher blogging, and hope to pass on some of the gems that I find (with due credit) and share our stories, too! Please leave a comment if you use anything you find or if you use my blog. And don't forget to become a member and sign up for email updates. :)
