yesterday's snapshot

we kicked off our Scholastic Book Fair yesterday.
it was gold day and bring your pennies day :)

we began the morning by practicing writing Ff's with correct formation.

we began our mini-study on Ants Monday.
we took a campus field trip to the biology department at Bibb Graves.
and boy did we see some sights!

Dr. Morse went out yesterday morning and caught us a fresh batch of bugs in a local creek.
he showed us many types of different insects and then a picture of what it would become when it matured.

believe it or not, this turns into a dragonfly!!!

 -->

and this turns into a dobson fly!

 -->

we learned that it stays in this state for 5 years and after it turns into the adult fly, it only lives for 2 weeks!!!

here's a stick bug!

and this turns into a mayfly!

and lastly, this becomes a caddis fly!

on our way out, we stopped by the College of Ed. and looked at our artwork they have displayed.

*** a special thank you to Dr. Morse for taking time out of his busy schedule. we learned so much! ***
