today's snapshot

We continued our beginning of the year discussion today on the subject of losing things.

We talked about the importance of names, writing our names correctly, putting things back where they belong so we can find them the next time we need them, etc...

We learned the rhyme "Three Little Kittens" who lost their mittens. The students drew kittens for during art today and I dictated what they recalled from the rhyme.

So glad that Hope joined us today! Welcome back, Hope!

this week's snapshot

Another busy, Olympian, worldly week! Monday we created Australia's flag.

Tuesday we went to Tuscaloosa to the movies. We watched Clifford the Big Red Dog and then went to eat at McDonald's and play.

Warren noticed the Olympic rings on my drinks on the way home. :D

Wednesday we fingerpainted Antarctica's flag.

Thursday the students completed their Olympic number puzzles. I love the blog where I found this Olympic set. Please stop by 3 Dinosaurs today!

This morning, we walked across campus to visit the ducks and feed them some bread crumbs.

We also painted a classroom Olympic torch. Don't forget the Opening Ceremonies come on tonight on NBC. This week's events we learned about were sailing, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, triathalon, and we watched the opening ceremonies from Bejing in 2008.

I found this torch craft on Tippy Toe Crafts blog!

Ms. Kaley's class made Olympic ring cookies using butter cookies and icing. Too cute! And so simple!
