the beginning of the week

This week is all about the letter Ii!

We have learned about circumference and estimated our pumpkin's circumference!

Wrote I's on the wipe-off boards!

We have estimated our pumpkins weight and our weight!

We have played Freeze Tag!

We played a Spooky Pumpkin Roll and Cover Game which helps build number sense. You can find it {here} for free!

We learned the parts of a pumpkin: stem, tendril, skin, and rib)

Addison (the red-headed cutie in the front row) and her family recently visited Puerto Rico and sent us a postcard while they were there telling us all about their adventures. Please remember us while you are on vacation or if you have relatives out of town- send us a postcard to add to our map!

Oh! And even built a garage for our cars!

today's snapshot

This is the video made during Hero Day at the CS.
Today we continued our discussion on sounds. We are hoping the weather will finally be nice enough tomorrow so we can take a sound walk outside. We listened to sounds from our Sound Bingo game.

We practiced writing our F's the correct way.

This was our morning estimation problem:
Here are our estimations:
And here is our proof:
Kaitlyn G. took a picture of the cabin she and Mr. James built.
And Conner took a pic of the cabin he and Mr. James also built.

This afternoon during limited centers, the students were allowed to visit the block center, the writing center, shaving cream letters table, and the journal table with me. Today the students painted their journal pages.

Don't forget our large map located at the back door now. We would love to post postcards from all of the world! And we will also be using it during the Traveling Gingerbread Project coming soon!
