today's snapshot

In between dance and gymnastics...

we managed to fingerpaint some Jj's...

and build more with our no-ends!

This afternoon we organized and sorted our balls by color:

by type:

and by size:

Our question of the day:

We made up a poem called Silly Names

Laughing Leo went to play
over the hills and far away.

On the way he met a cat
who showed him how to wear a hat.

On the way he met a pig
who tickled him with a twig.

On the way he met a dog
who showed him how to croak like a frog.

On the way he met some sheep
who taught him how to leap.

On the way he met a hen
who asked him to play all over again.

We also came up with a list of what we can do with balls!

And we had a few minutes before library, so we played Silly Turkey on Starfall.

teacher-led centers

We tried out two new games this week. Yesterday we learned to play a game that Dr. Minear gave us for Christmas called Same or Different.
Each child had a game board similar to Bingo boards.
I would pick up a card and show it to the students. If they had the picture on their board they had to raise their hand and yell "Here!" I would give the card to the student and they would put it on the corresponding picture on their board. It was a lot of fun!

Today we played a Snowflake Matching game that I found on PreKinders site. It was also a lot of fun and very challenging!
