Thursday's snapshot

we used our snowman glyphs today to learn how to analyze data.

we also made R's using play-dough.

we watched the eBook Buildings, Buildings, Buildings and talked about each building, what we used each building for, and if it was a familiar building or not.

during limited centers we wrote in our journals and had fun playing the counting gingerbread cookies game.

Friday's snapshot

we practiced writing Qq's on the smartboard this morning.

look what an awesome building these boys built!

we discussed buildings again today and Grayson shared the picture of his family's auto parts store in York with us. he told us what all they carried and what they could do for us.

question of the day:

we also brainstormed a list of what we already know about buildings. next week we will record what we would like to learn in our study.

many of the students did not know what a quilt was when we were discussing Qq words so I brought in a small quilt for them to see.

in limited centers, we played a gingerbread counting game...

and wrote in journals...

I saw a former student, Regina, in the store Friday night. she always put a smile on our faces.
we miss you, Gina!
