Back from a windy, rainy, long weekend!

We are back! Lee came through Sumter County and I believe we all made it through with minimal damage. I know there were lots of power outages, including my home. I hope everyone has power and is enjoying the COOL, FALL WEATHER!!!!

Back to work! September's monthly theme is Ants. Our weekly theme is families and grandparents. Today we discussed families (members and activities) and graphed our # of family members. We were so into learning we ran out of time had to pick back up after nap! :)

A Sari Day!

Today Dr. Minear's Methods for Teaching Language Arts class visited the P-3 classes. They were discussing thematic units and this particular unit was on India. One student read us a story while others put saris on the students. Then each student was paired with a college student and they read and looked at books about India.

Our September door

Here is a pic of our September door. UWA kicks off today in Mobile against USA. Good luck Tigers!!!!
(I drew the football and megaphone years ago and copy them onto red paper and brown construction paper each year for football season.)

Favorite Colors

This week for family time homework students brought in pictures of things that are their favorite color. Then we glued the pics to a corresponding crayon box. (I got the crayon box from Scholastic Printables.) Most were front and back. They did a great job!
