What a busy end of the week we had!
Thursday was 80's Day! We were totally awesome!

We also spent Thursday and Friday talking about fire safety and fire fighters.
It seems as if everyone would love to be a firefighter! :)
I found this cute idea on Pinterest last year. The students cut out 5 fireman hats during morning small group. Then that afternoon they made a red handprint and glued a hat on each fingertip. The poem says:
Five little firefighters sleeping in a row.
Ring goes the bell, down the pole they go.
They jump on the engine and put out the fire.
Now they're back home, but they sure are tired.

The journal center was all about the word "fire." The students even painted with fire colors!
We had the awesome opportunity to take advantage of the festivities a day before Homecoming thanks to Addison's day, Mr. John.
Ms. Brooke and I made cotton candy for the students and Ms. Kim popped popcorn.
Last year the cotton candy won. Not this year! I am a pro...sort of. ;)
We also took advantage of the many bouncy houses on the front lawn.
And of course my Bennett had to come and play with the big kids!
Saturday we rode in the Homecoming Parade. The college's theme was Sweet Home West Alabama. Our float's theme was Sweet Campus School of West Alabama. We all worked really hard on it. And thanks to the help-elfs for also reeling me back in because I can go overboard when I get in my artistic mode. Shocker!
And if you are wondering, the lollipops were made from pool noodles and wooden dowels. :)
Rockin' K4 teachers walking the parade!
Katelyn Ritchie, one of our K5 students, who is the 2012 Little Miss Princess of Hope.
So proud of her!
