After library and snack, the kids decided on a laid back center time. The three centers were kitchen (of course), bugs (of course), and freedom art (I sat out noodles, markers, glue, shapes, and paper).
I am an early childhood teacher who taught preschool for 8 1/2 years, 2 years of K4, and ending my first year in K5. All at UWA Campus School! I love my job, teacher blogging, and hope to pass on some of the gems that I find (with due credit) and share our stories, too! Please leave a comment if you use anything you find or if you use my blog. And don't forget to become a member and sign up for email updates. :)

Spring Fling Twenty Twelve
We had a wonderful morning at Jaycee Park! We have two really great field trips in the past two weeks. Thank you to all parents who came and volunteered their time with us. We had a blast! We started the morning off putting on sunscreen and bug spray and putting on our shades.
After we arrived at the park, snack was first on our agenda for the morning.
Then we hit the playground running!
Pizza Party!
Anyone up for some t-ball???
We ended the Spring Fling with parachute games. Thank you again to all who helped. We had a great day!
Week of the Young Child
This is the WOYC, an NAEYC week to celebrate children. This is was the explanation off the website:
Week of the Young Child™ is held each year to honor young children and thank teachers and all those who make a difference in young children’s lives. The theme for WOYC 2012 is:
Early Years Are Learning Years®
NAEYC encourages state and local Affiliates, early childhood programs, and organizations who work on behalf of young children to plan WOYC events that will bring your community together.

today's snapshot
We finished up week 3 today, What do people throw away? Tomorrow will be spent at our Spring Fling playing and eating pizza. The weather is supposed to be beautiful 88* and mostly sunny. Perfect!
May sensory tub
I focused on spring/flowers/dirt/critters for May's sensory tub. I dyed the rice black for soil,
added some silk flowers,
plastic tomatoes, seed packets,
plastic snakes,
a pot, plastic tools,
plastic crops and a tree,
and some rocks.
I cant wait until Tuesday so the students can explore it!

today's snapshot
I forgot to include this yesterday!
Another busy morning...gymnastics first thing and then Science Lab where the students continued discussing recycling and its importance. They read Don't Lose It, Reuse It and toured the trash fair again discussing the different materials used in each project.
You will also notice the appearance of the lunch tables when you walk in. After touring Aiken Village at MSU, this was one of the changes we wanted to implement immediately. We believe that family style dining is also important at school for social skills and so much more! :)
