They talked about Valentine’s Day and why we have it. Ms. Annie read the book Valentine Surprise, and they discussed things that we do for others on that holiday. They said that sometimes people get flowers on Valentine’s, and wanted to see if they could make white carnations turn red. Ms. Annie put red food coloring into a cup of water, and they talked about how the water travels up the stem to the flower. They are going to check the flower later today and tomorrow to see if there is a change in the color. They also made hearts out of chenille sticks, that will hopefully turn out to be crystallized hearts! They mixed Borax with boiling water and dropped the hearts in the water using a string and a pencil. We can’t wait to see on Thursday if they are crystallized!

today's snapshot
Today was the last day for discussing schedules. We watched the eBook Papi, How Many Stars Are in the Sky? and had an awesome time at science.
