We had fun today making some snowmen for our January bulletin board. We used raisins for eyes (and ate a few, too)
noodles for noses
and corn for smiles.
I used some scrapbook paper scraps to make the hats and added some ribbon.
We added to our MLK, Jr. graph today. We learned that he was: a speaker, had: many peaceful marches, and wanted: a nation where we will not be judged by our skin but by our character.
$20 assessment fee
3 rolls of paper towels
1 set Expo markers
1 pack colored cardstock
1 pack colored copy paper
1 Elmer's glue
100 plastic spoons
1 pack Styrofoam cups
We will spend the week learning and discussing Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Today we learned that he was: a minister and a leader, had: a dream that people could live in peace and helped to end segregation, and wanted: all people to have the same rights.
I found today's art activity on 1st Grade in One Year's blog and the printable on Ginger Snaps' blog. :)

On our last day before break, we enjoyed a fun day. We had pancakes for breakfast, wore our pajamas all day, and watched Polar Express and ate popcorn. A "P" day, one could say!
I hope everyone had a blessed break! So glad to be back on a schedule. I missed seeing everyone's faces and hearing their laughter. I look forward to an awesome, prosperous 2012 with you all! Happy New Year! :)
